DAPHNE

Daphne is a writer and actress native to New Orleans. She writes about girlhood and gayhood—the glamour, grit, guilt, and joy of queer life.

Right now, she’s writing a novel: The Queer Kid. It’s a tell-all by Oliver Day, the disgraced bassist of the infamous 1970s rock band, King Yellow. It’s got everything: rockstar excess, hidden lovers, drugs, and the scandal ruined it all.

This is the story of a mean girl eternally seventeen. This is the story of the girl who can’t let her go. This is a story of obsession. Of anger. Of grief. Of ghosts. The ones who leave us take a piece of our soul with them when they go, whether we like it or not.
